Abstract

Within the epidermis, keratinocytes have the role of cutaneous inflammation and immunity by production of interleukin-1(IL-1), and other cytokines including IL-6, IL-8, and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α). Normal human melanocytes and melanoma
cells
also have been reported to produce these cytokines.
